My Favourite Quotes #3

Revenge. I'm sure you've all heard a lot about it - apparently it's sweet and best served cold (sounds like a really great chocolate mousse to me!) I've discovered over the years that I can be quite vengeful and it's a part of me I really don't like.  So, whenever I feel like cleaning the toilet with someone's toothbrush I try to remember the following quote (which has been attributed to many people over the years but I first became aware of it when Midtown used it as an album title):

I first started to believe this was true after I was unceremoniously dumped after a five year relationship without much of an explanation. I found that by going out and getting on with life that not only did I feel better, but it seemed to make him wonder if I'd ever loved him at all (I did).

Do you think this is good advice? Or are there just some occasions when you really need to fill a shampoo bottle with Nair?*

*I've never done this... yet ;-)

  1. Oh man I was a scary girl in high school... If someone did something that pissed me off I wanted to key their car or put gum in their hair. Thankfully I never did either of those and now I know that "revenge" isn't good. But the show is... Lol

  2. Cleaning the toilet with someone else's toothbrush, now that I like ;)

  3. I love that quote! (although Nair does sounds like a fun idea haha)

  4. I looooove this quote. I used to always want to seek revenge but I have got better as I've gotten older. This is just the perfect quote! :)

  5. I think it's generally true, but we have to be careful not to blame or judge people for whom that's not so easy to do.

  6. I think this is a great quote ( :
